We have an immediate opening for an HR Generalist for our Valdosta, GA facility. The objective of the HR Generalist will be to support team members and management to ensure employees work in an environment that mirrors the company’s values, policies, and objectives. Strategies will be executed to improve the overall culture as well as improving upon the relationship between management and the hourly manufacturing employees.
Duties:
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interviews and onboarding
- Administer benefits programs, including enrollment, changes and terminations
- Assist in the resolution of employee relations issues, including conducting investigations and recommending appropriate solutions
- Maintain accurate and up to date employee records and HR
- Examine unemployment compensation claims, identify and forward discrepancies in claims; compiles data on claims and secures witnesses for unemployment compensation claims hearings
- Continuous interaction with department contacts and making regular visits to ensure understanding of processes and give support for one-on-one training and questions
- Facilitate human resource transactions, including promotions, demotions, transfers, terminations and maintenance of relevant documents and records
- Create employee engagement plans, obtain necessary budget approval and initiating activities
- Coordinate in-house communication & community communication programs
- Assist with the development & administration of all aspects of the company’s training and development program
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar HR role
- 3+ years of experience within a manufacturing facility with increasing levels of responsibility
- Solid understanding of HR principles, procedures, and best practices
- Excellent knowledge of employment laws and regulations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- Experience working with a Union
- HRCI certification is a plus
